Lactic Acid Training - Behind Knee Cable Leg Extensions


This exercise setup is very different than what you might have seen before. It's a knee extension exercise but with the resistance held behind the knee instead in front of the foot (like a leg extension machine). I find this to be much easier on the knee joints.

By holding the cable handle behind the knee, you get resistance on the quads. Straightening the knee is quad action.

If you don't have a leg extension machine at home but you do have a cable machine, this is a good alternative. You can even use bands for this by hitching one end of the band to a solid object then looping the other end behind your knees.
