TL;DR – David Protein Bars
28g protein, 150 calories, and 0g sugar per bar with solid dairy/egg protein sources. Great taste and texture; fits fat‑loss and busy‑day fueling.
- ✅ Protein blend: milk protein isolate, collagen, whey concentrate, and egg white.
- ✅ Flavors tested: Double Fudge Brownie, Blueberry Pie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Cake Batter (plus new PB variants).
- ✅ 0g sugar; reasonable carbs; travel‑friendly.
And I don't say that lightly... because I've tried a LOT of bars over the past 35+ years I've been training.
A few weeks ago, a good fitness friend of mine introduced me to one of the founders of the company that makes the bars (the name of the bar is "David").
Now, truth be told, I've always been skeptical of protein bars.
They can definitely be a convenient way to get protein when you're running around busy during the day.
The problem is, I've tried so many bars made from just slightly better than garbage and taste just slightly better than terrible.
When you're trying lose fat, those extra calories count...
...and when you're trying to build muscle, PROTEIN is what you want more of, not just empty sugar calories.
And 75% of the calories in this bar come from protein.
I've never seen that in ANY other bar before.
The protein sources are milk protein isolate, collagen, whey protein concentrate and egg white...no garbage protein to be found here.

I'm always up to test new products so I wanted to give them a shot...
(heck, I even tested a bar made from cricket protein a few years ago and a camel's milk product!).
They sent me a sample pack in the mail, one of each flavor...
The 28-150-0 you see on the box is their nutrient profile...
These aren't designed necessarily as low-carb bars (you can see 14 g of carbs on the label) but there aren't a TON of carbs in them either, making them very usable on a low-carb or Keto type of diet.
This is what the blueberry pie flavor looks like (all natural coloring).
So how do they taste?
Honestly, they're freaking DELICIOUS.
They've put a lot of work into nailing the taste of these bars. The flavor is awesome with no weird aftertaste at all.
And even though I love chocolate, I actually liked the cake batter one the best.
The texture is great, too...has little "krispies" in the bars that give it a nice crunch.
I'm not kidding when I say hide these from your kids...
They'll "cookie monster" their way through the whole box in no time, they're that good (save 'em for a treat).
I wouldn't hide these from my wife, though... :)
She's actually been looking for a good protein bar for a long time...she runs crazy busy in her job and needs something she can grab on the go that...
As soon as I got these bars I said "you need to try these."
She absolutely LOVED them.
And now we ordered a bunch...
(I will tell you up front, they're not cheap, but they are TOP quality)
Now if MY experience and HER experience doesn't convince you, here's another testimonial that might help...
How do I get some to try?
You can start with a sample pack to try all the flavors but personally, I don't think you can go wrong with ANY of the flavors.
If you're a chocolate fan, the fudge one is really good.
If you like nice, light fruity flavors, go with the blueberry one.

New Flavors!
They've added a few new flavors to their menu...Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk (awesome one) and Salted Peanut Butter (if you love PB, get this one).

They've also just recently released a Cinnamon Roll flavor which is excellent! Tastes exactly like a real cinnamon roll.
