Weight Management With Chronic Illness
Question:
How does a person manage their weight when they have a chronic illness?
Answer: Weight management can be tough, but especially when a person has a chronic illness. The best way to go is to first focus on the foods you eat.
Try to eat foods that are closer to their natural state, e.g. not processed. Eat lots of fiber, veggies, salads, lean protein, healthy fats like fish oil. These foods will help the body process and use nutrients better, managing weight. This may even help ease the chronic illness as well. Many of the problems we have in our society are due to poor eating habits and lots of processed, chemical-laden foods. With the nutrition in order, some regular exercise, such as walking or resistance training, will go a long ways towards managing weight. Here's an article that might be helpful to you: |
