Rest-Pause Training is one of the most effective methods there is for stimulating muscle growth.

To do Rest-Pause Training, you will do a "normal" set with a selected weight. Then you'll rest for a short period of time (hence the rest-pause name), then immediately try and get as many more reps as you can, then repeat one more time.

Here's how you'll be doing Rest-Pause Training in this program:

  • Select a weight that you can get about 8 reps with. Get as many reps as you can, approaching failure but not going to failure. Get every rep you can with good form.
  • Now rest 20 seconds.
  • Do another mini-set of as many reps as you can with that same weight, same exercise. It may be 2 to 4 reps here.
  • Rest 20 seconds.
  • Do a final mini-set of as many reps as you can with that weight. It may only be 1 or 2 reps here.
  • Take 3 minutes rest in between rest-pause sets.
  •
